Company History
Since 1978 Elliott flooring grew from a private contractor to a large flooring showroom and installation business. It is a small town American business that worked hard to build a top-quality reputation as it grew mostly by referrals and repeat business. Elliott Flooring was started by Kevin Elliott and was expanded by his son, Ken Elliott. Those that have known the Elliott’s over the years have known them to be kind, ethical and enthusiastic.
Kevin Elliott was a lot like many other young men coming home after serving his country in the Marine Corps. He had a young family to feed and he wanted to start his own business. After a short stint in the restaurant business, Kevin decided that he wanted to work in a field that left him more time on nights and weekends. It was important to him that he be around to help raise his family. He started doing floor installations for local contractors. He was good at his job and quickly developed a name as a trusted and talented craftsman. As his business grew, his son Ken would join him on jobs and learned the flooring business from the ground up.
Ken followed his father’s example of service and joined the Navy. When Ken’s tour of duty ended in 1994, he found his family business on the brink of expansion. The business had grown quickly and several crews were gainfully employed. It became apparent that opening their own flooring shop would be a wise decision. Ken decided to jump in with both feet and take on the challenge of his family’s business. After years of being installers they were ready to build a show room and start offering the full service of a flooring provider.
As Kevin grew older he began the process of turning over the family business to his son Ken. Ken established himself as the leader of the company and continued to base the business on providing industry leading service along with access to all the best flooring providers. Ken continued to establish relationships with top flooring providers, paying attention to all the modern flooring options. In 1999, Elliott Flooring expanded into a larger showroom to provide their customers the opportunity to see and choose from a wider variety of products and suppliers.
Elliott Flooring quickly grew to be known as an area leader in flooring for providing top quality craftsmanship. The Elliott family’s commitment to their community continued to grow as Ken took a second job as a Firefighter for the local fire house. Ken’s wife, Val, also became a Firefighter volunteering for the County Fire Services.
Elliott Flooring has developed a dedicated team of project managers, showroom staff, and professional installers. The Elliott team brings customers’ dreams to reality.

The showroom, located at 406 Lincoln Drive Troy, Missouri, houses an extensive collection of top quality products to meet every design need and budget. Elliott’s own expert installation crews facilitate projects done right from start to finish. Ken showed his connection to Lincoln County first hand as he held a second job as Fire Fighter protecting properties and people in cases of emergency. Ken’s Wife, Val, has also been a volunteer fire fighter and served the county in times of need.
The Elliott’s and Elliott Flooring have been part of the fabric of the county. The Elliott Flooring’s commitment to Lincoln County has been strong and enduring. The company has always supported community from sponsoring community sports teams to supporting local causes.
At Elliott Flooring is proudly veteran owned and operated. Their commitment to our country comes first with service and then with serving our community. Albeit in the armed services or as emergency responders, The Elliott Flooring family has been taking care of the USA and Lincoln county with all their hearts and souls.
